groundhog day

City still frozen. Campus still closed. Still Java-Loggin’ it at the ranch.

Shane came home from work early yesterday (yahoo!) and we decided to venture out into the cold and barren wasteland that is Seattle this week. After we’d rushed from our car into the warm fluorescent bosom of Target, I said to Shane, “I’m so glad we don’t live somewhere like this.”

I’m sure there are good things about places like North Dakota. I just never want to experience them. I’m fine right here, where a few days below zero (C) stops the city in its tracks. We hunker down, burn eco-friendly logs, and drink soy lattes. And maybe go to Target. This is Seattle, people. Call us sissies if you want. We prefer to think of ourselves as civilized.
