Beijing day four
Today (Saturday) was our last full day in Beijing. We’re all very ready to fly off tomorrow to meet our children. Though seeing the Great Wall was quite something today, my main objective there was to wear myself out so I’d have some chance of sleeping tonight. A few of us went as far as we could in the time that we had, and the physical exertion was comforting to me. I’m approaching one of the most intense emotional moments of my entire life, so it was nice to just be in my body for a short time. And yes, the Wall itself was beautiful.
We’re off to bed now, and tomorrow is finally Lina Day! I’m nervous. I’m so happy. I’m absolutely ready.
I’m very, very thankful for the other adoptive families we’ve spent time with this past week. Though we’ve only known them for a few days, I now cannot imagine going through this without them alongside us. We are, all of us, taking this leap together. Sleep tight, everyone. We’re almost there.
