Beijing day two
At the end of our guided stuff (Summer Palace, pandas at the Beijing zoo that reminded me way too much of our cat Talullah), we were dropped off at the Pearl Market. What a place! I had SO much fun bargaining that at times I was actually disappointed when they decided to sell me the item. I heard lots of “lady, lady, I lose money on you okay, okay” and witnessed much dramatic indignation as a reaction to my offers, but most of the time I got what I wanted for a small fraction of the original asking price. THANK YOU to Ellen for giving me a heads up on what to expect. We had a blast, and all the other folks in our groups benefited from your advice as well!
