First snow, just in time for holiday lights
Â
It’s unusual to have snow in November here in Seattle, but for the second year in a row Mother Nature blessed us with an early snow on the day I decided to put up our holiday lights. Just after we moved into the Ranch last year, one of our new neighbors asked us whether we were aware of the holiday responsibility associated with living on this street (we weren’t, but we are now); folks come from all around to ooh and ahh at the displays in our neighborhood, and Santa makes an appearance during certain extra-high traffic hours.
Last year we got a bit of a pass as it was our first year and we had only just got back from China with Lina. This year expectations are higher so I wanted to get started early. And no, we’re not the only (or even the first) house on the block with our lights up.

I couldn’t imagine the Ranch without lights. I love the glow and shimmer from the snow. Job well done!
